But I was not upset. I was happy to be home surrounded by my husband and daughter and able to share a few hours with good friends. What else could I ask for?
I started out keeping this blog as a place to keep track of our journey raising our sweet first born. Four years and four precious kids later I'm still documenting our days for better or for worse. Enjoy the ride.

New Year's Eve
You know you're getting old when you have NO PLANS on New Year's - not even any within our own little family! I had all intentions of putting Lilly to bed and settling in with my book and Andy was going to do some work! At least Carla, Jeff, and their boys were eating dinner nearby and I told them to stop by afterwards and they did or else we really would have been lame. They came over until about 9:15pm and the kids played. So it was a party indeed for the children. By 8:32 Andy, Carla, and Jeff made a toast with hot champagne that was left near our boiler thingy and New Year's was over.
But I was not upset. I was happy to be home surrounded by my husband and daughter and able to share a few hours with good friends. What else could I ask for?
