Lilly's 1st Triathlon

Lilly competed in her first triathlon on Sunday.  We are so proud of her!  I have always wanted to do triathlons but have yet to get my butt in shape.  Lilly wasn't nervous a bit but I sure was!
We registered at noon and it happened to be a very very hot day.  I believe the high hit 95 degrees and it was super humid.
When we went into the gym to wait for instructions, Lilly ran into one of her little girlfriends from her class.  Gianna and Lilly love to be goofballs!

Lilly was supposed to start her swim at 1:00 p.m. so we kept the boys up from their naps so they could cheer on their big sister.  It was H-O-T and crowded and Lilly started around 2 p.m.!  There were 5 heats of kids and she was in the 4th "wave."  The boys and Ella hung in there thanks to Andy and Jackie.

 Finally ready!!!
Lilly's in the pink cap.  On your mark, get set, GO!
 Go Lilly Go!
 Biiiiig breath!

This was the job I was nervous about!  I was supposed to get her ready to bike and Andy was waiting at the bike with her helmet and to push her off.  I don't do well when in a rush!  I put her shoes on before her shorts!!!  Ugh!!
So grateful to Thomas for taking pictures!

Love this picture... Daddy pushing his little girl off on the second leg of her triathlon.

Lilly rode so fast she ended passing almost everyone who started before her!  We were so proud of her!

The next three pictures crack me up...

Unfortunately Lilly took off so fast running in the extreme heat that after she took the course around the turn she became overheated and exhausted and started crying.  The walked her back around and we took a little walk and stopped at the water table for some water.  My poor girl.
Seriously, it was super hot so let's focus on the child in the next picture.  I just had to share the face of my baby girl gasping for air.
Lilly did finish the race my sweet girl and then sobbed to Jackie about how she couldn't breathe and how she thought her asthma had gone away but she guesses it didn't!  Jackie then yelled at me, lol.  In a loving protective way of course.

Thank goodness for Thomas and Jackie!  They were very helpful on a hot and sticky and chaotic day!
In the end, Lilly still got 4th place out of about 30 girls!!  Told you she was going fast!!

So proud of you Lilly!  You're amazing.  Mommy wouldn't have made it even the one lap swimming...
