First Day of School!

Today was Lilly's first official day at St. Andrew's Nursery School!

While it was her first day parents were allowed to stay with them today and it was a shortened class. There are 20 kids and 3 teachers in Lilly's class. Today, half the class attended from 9-10 a.m. and the other half from 10-11 a.m. She was completely at ease and happy to go. I tried to stay away from her during her class so she would know what it feels like to be there "alone." She did a great job! The kids met on the carpet in a circle and played a name game with a ball and then headed outside to play. This was a big hit. When the teacher rang the bell the kids were instructed to line up. Lilly was halfway up the rock wall when Mrs. Clark rang the bell and I watched Lilly to see what she'd do. She froze, turned and looked at the teacher, then climbed back down the wall and ran to line up! Yay! I was very pleased.
Lindsay and Lilly after their first successful day! Tomorrow, they're on their own...
