Incessant Chatter

Lilly talks. And talks. And talks. And talks.

God love her but sometimes I feel like my ears are bleeding. I long for quiet moments in my life.

Lilly talks about anything. She'll start telling a story which will then take on a life of it's own. She will add details as she goes. I like to think of it as her imagination on crack.

Tonight, at dinner, she would not stop talking about a cake party. Before I turned on the Flip she'd been talking nonstop for 10 minutes. It's similar to talking to an elderly person with dementia. The best response is to just go along with the story in hopes that it will soon end. Don't get me wrong, I love conversing with her. But these stories that come out of nowhere and drone on and on and on... It's those times that I dream of myself, in a chair, on a remote, deserted island. Andy blames me for her talking gene. Maybe he's right and maybe I owe my dad an apology.

Here's Lilly in action. You will hear her talking about Lindsay's "cake party." Midway through you'll hear her revert to jibberish. She does that to fill dead airtime when she doesn't have anymore story to tell. While she's talking jibberish she's coming up with the next portion of her story.

Ella's very verbal as well. I fear for our future.
