On Saturday Lilly was fever-free and acting much better except for the ear infection. She had a birthday party of a dance friend on Sunday. Since she had not had a fever and was on antibiotics for her ear infection (which is not contagious) I decided late Saturday night that if she woke up fever-free again I'd let her go to the party. She would have been fever-free for 24 hours. She woke up on Sunday feeling good and played the morning away. At 10:30 I took her to Enchanted Dreams for Kaitlyn's birthday party. She was very excited.
When we got there and they let her pick out a special princess dress to wear.
Sleeping Beauty made an appearance and the kids were beside themselves with excitement.
They had a musical parade following Sleeping Beauty around the room.
About midway through the party I noticed Lilly was not really herself. She was not engaging with the other kids (but she only knew 2 kids of many that attended). She also did not want her nails painted when the girls came around to let them pick a color. She sat and watched all the kids get their nails painted and then came in the back and sat with me. I felt her head and it didn't feel warm so I suspected her ear may be bothering her.

But by the time they passed out pizza she was dragging. She sat quietly at her table and nibbled on the pizza. Before they brought out cake she asked me to go home. I quickly packed up and we left. I was thinking she was tired since she hadn't had much action on 4 days. When we got home she laid down to watch a movie and I took her temperature to find she had a fever. Guilt! I really thought since she'd been fever-free for 24 hours she was on the mend. Now I feel horrible that she was around other kids and potentially had a fever. I gave her Motrin and she perked up and played the rest of the day.
I hope that the other kids do not catch whatever illness Lilly is fighting. She had a great time but I think it was a bit much for her tired little body.
