Lilly Dancing

*You'll need to scroll to the bottom and pause the music before watching the videos.

Today at Lilly's dance class, they let parents watch for the first time (besides lifting the shade once). I was the only parent there without a video camera. It took me about 15 minutes to overcome the stroke I was having over this. Finally I prayed about it and came to peace with the fact that it was a short dance and that I was there to see it and she would be doing the dances in the recital for Andy to see. I also decided I would video with my cell phone however my cell phone only videos in 30 second increments and the quality is poor. It's the best I could do.

*I did, of course, have my camera but that doesn't really make sense for a dance now does it?

Lilly is in pink tights, black ballet slippers, and a white sweater. She is closest to me in this first one. This is her ballet number.

This is the end of her ballet dance and you'll see she's near her teacher and then comes running yelling, "I want a lollipop!" which shocked me because I call them "suckers" and so does Lilly. I'm assuming since Miss Tiffany gives them suckers at the end of class she's used to hearing her say "lollipop."

The jazz dance...

More jazz...

Lilly did a pretty good job. At one point she broke into her own dance number but then went back to the group number. I tried to prepare her all week that people would be watching since the last time I caught a peek of her dancing she freaked out. When I do not watch (or pretend not to) she does the dance well. It was nice that they let us watch. I am proud of myself for letting go of the fact that I didn't take the camcorder. It's not the first time I've not known what to expect as a parent and it surely won't be the last.

Lilly will have her dance recital on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m. I am eager to see what will happen when she's faced with a costume, stage, and audience.
